ABOUT
The New Year’s Eve celebration was initially brought to life to answer the needs of an older, more mature target market, partnering with two unique festival properties: Wolfkop Weekender and Bazique Festival.
Three beautifully curated dance floors – one outdoor and two indoor – at an idyllic venue in the heart of Cape Town, shadowed by the beautiful Table Mountain. With an age restriction of 21 and over as well as extravagant VIP and VVIP offerings, the celebration catches the attention of the Cape Town elite as well as international travelers.

The Project
Alcazar is THE Inner City Cape Town New Year’s Eve celebration, brought to you by Bazique Festival and Wolfkop Weekender, the city’s undisputed masters of experiential, artimmersive partying.
This lavish event is hosted in a beautiful venue in the very heart of the city, with 12 hours of music and performance art showcased over 3 meticulously curated stage sets.
The Bazique Ballroom
La Fee Verte One of the jewels in the crown of Bazique Festival, a highly styled den of nu-disco and funk… a tale of the unexpected with no holds barred that is not for the faint of heart!
The Alcazar Stage
Each year, Alcazar draws architectural inspiration from one of the great palaces of the world to create an astonishing art piece, combining amazing stage architecture with an audio visual experience that is unparalleled in South Africa, featuring 3D projection mapping and a flamboyant Cirque of wildly costumed performance artists and moonlighting Olympic gymnasts!
The Wolfkop Den
An Electric Ballroom of decadent fun delivered by the family Wolfkop – which means you know it’s going to be good this year with an improved acoustic treatment and a late serving bar!
Building the project
Each year, Alcazar draws inspiration from one of the magnificent palaces of the world to create an astonishing art piece. Alcazar NYE combines amazing stage architecture with an audiovisual experience that is unparalleled in South Africa; featuring 3D projection mapping and a flamboyant cirque of wildly costumed performance artists and moonlighting Olympic gymnasts!
Due to its desirability with both the local and international tourism industry, the festival partners with trusted experience advisors and makes use of their relevant marketing teams. From well-known social butterflies, social influencers, as well as the Alcazar street teams – engaging with potential Alcazarians on the picturesque beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay in their themes attire brings about considerable support and interest in the festival.
The Result
With its refreshing and unique style, Alcazar NYE answers the call to the eclectic elite who find themselves in Cape Town during the South African summer holidays.
Alcazar NYE is hoping to grow into an even more whimsical celebration, much like Rio De Janeiro’s Carnival, but as a boutique-style festival.
